In addition to the benefits of a CAP membership, joining the DTP helps preserve and promote theoretical physics in Canada, and provides networking opportunities with our nation-wide community of theoretical physicists. As a student, joining the DTP also makes you eligible to apply for DTP awards.
How to become a member?
Joining the DTP can be done anytime, or during registration or renewal of your general CAP membership. During the registration/renewal process, simply select the box for “DTP – Theoretical Physics” in the list of “divisional and committee memberships”, and the registration fee will be added to your total.
If you are already a member of CAP, you can join via the “Updates” section at the top of your CAP user dashboard.
Membership fees
DTP membership is renewed on a yearly basis.
- Full-time undergraduate/graduate students: FREE! (except for student members of the Canadian Geophysical Union)
- Professionals (including postdocs, industry workers, faculty members, and retired faculty members): 15.75$/year
