Theory Canada 18

19-20 June 2026—McGill University and Université de Montréal—Montreal, Quebec

Occurring on June 19-20, 2026, Theory Canada 18 will be located in Montreal, Quebec, within driving distance (2 hours) from the 2026 CAP Congress. The latter will take place on June 22-26 at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.

The aim is to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas across disciplines with research-level but accessible oral presentations. The research areas covered by Theory Canada 18 will be:

  • Mathematical Physics
  • Quantum Information
  • Relativity, Gravitation and Cosmology
  • Strings and Quantum Gravity
  • Particles and Fields
  • Nuclear Physics
  • Condensed Matter Theory

Abstract submission and registration

Funding permitting, there will be no fee to attend Theory Canada 18. Registration, however, will be required.

Registration and abstract submission are now open and can be done on the TC18 Indico page.

The abstract submission deadline will be Saturday 16 May 2026.

Program

The conference program will be available on Indico at a later date.

Travel and accommodations

We recommend booking at Zum Hotel for a room at the University of Montreal residences.  Upon registration, participants will receive a link allowing them to book at a discounted rate.

We advise people flying in to Montreal to attend both conferences to fly in to Montreal and fly out of Ottawa.  We plan to arrange free transportation for participants from Montreal to the CAP Congress in Ottawa on Sunday, June 21 in the afternoon, time to be determined. People who wish to drive should be aware that it is an approximately 2 hour drive to Ottawa from Montreal; train and bus connections also exist.
